I live in a coastal area of North Carolina USA and have a long history riding and restoring motorcycles. In retirement I found the weight and challenge of riding less attractive and went searching for an alternative. Enter Planet Vespa. Greg and his team search out and find worthy candidates for complete restorations of the 60s Icon at a rate which I could not do personally and without the history.
Doing my research I saw skeptics voicing concerns about imports but that wasn’t valid information for me applied here.
Greg’s talents bringing these scooters back to life gives life back to guys like me now after my second purchase of a custom order he just completed and was shipped with help by JF Moran import brokers.
To simply restore a 60s vintage product and not address certain concerns of that era would not be good value to the customer so updated charging systems and electronic ignitions are added along with other improvements which did not reduce but actually increases the value.

I think the best review I can give comes from the jealous look on my friends faces when they ask, “Where did you get that Vespa?”

I simply reply – Planet Vespa !

I have challenged Greg and his team with unique restorations in the past, but when I asked them to build me a replica of the iconic “Sting” Vespa from the cult movie classic Quadrophenia, I was not sure what I would get. Well the pictures tell the story. Greg and his team delivered a flawless replica that is great to look at and fun to drive. Planet Vespa has restored several scooters for me and all of them are beautiful, run well, and have zero issues when I take delivery. Greg and his team do a great job and can be fully trusted. DO NOT buy a Vespa restored in Vietnam unless it is from Planet Vespa.

Another great scooter from Greg and his team (my second one). Their scooters are prepared to the highest standard and look stunning. Lots of stainless and chrome on this 1961 VBB 150. Thanks Greg, your skill is much appreciated.

I purchased my 1962 Vespa last year, and the process was seamless. Greg and his team provide exhaustive purchase/transport information on this website, and it went just as it was outlined. The job they did restoring the Vespa was outstanding, and is a real beauty! They deliver just what they promise.

I will offer one cautionary note for someone living in California: the California DMV has gotten very strict about registering imported Vespas. They wanted the original title transfer document from Vietnam, which was difficult to obtain. Unfortunately, DMV did not inform me that a solution to the registration problem is to obtain a Surety Bond from an insurance company. I only found out about this option thanks to the advice I got from another California resident who had the same problem registering their imported Planet Vespa scooter. Getting a Surety Bond is a pretty simple process for the registration. But, it was the only solution I could find. I would recommend biting the bullet and getting the Surety Bond right up front in the registration process (if your from CA) so you can spend more time enjoying the ride on your new, restored Planet Vespa scooter!

Thanks, again, Greg and Team for a great product and providing me with many fun rides on my restored Vespa.

I love my 1965 VBC 150. It is beautiful and rides great. I communicated with Greg for months before purchase and we still talk months after the purchase. Greg follows through with after sale support quickly and with great knowledge. I want to get another one…I just need more room in my garage for it!!

Thanks Greg

I ordered a beautiful Tiffany Blue 1965 Vespa VBB Scooter with a sidecar from Greg this past Fall and the whole buying and shipping process went very smooth. The quality and performance of the unit is simply amazing, absolutely beautiful! I was skeptical as I’ve never ordered anything from overseas. However, Greg and one of his good buyers assured me that I would be getting a good quality scooter, I’m very happy! Greg is a true professional and he stands by his product. He made the whole buying experience easy for me. I had photos and videos sent during the rebuild phase and of the unit being tested, along with operating instructions. It was all very helpful information for a first timer (Vespa driver) like myself. When I first drove it out with my husband, we accidentally scraped the sidecar damaging the light that sits on the side unit. I told Greg what happened and he sent out a new light fixture for me soon after. All I needed to do is get the sidecar repainted here locally. Greg will ship extra paint for touch up purposes with your Vespa along with the accessories. Greg and his team are the BEST!
Thank you for the gorgeous restore, Greg! I love my scooter!
